New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has taken another step forward in connecting with the citizens on social media.

The Delhi Traffic Police have announced a mobile number using which citizens can connect with them popular messaging application WhatsApp.

The number is (+91)8750871493.

“Delhi Traffic Police is happy to connect with Delhiites on WhatsApp. If you want to complain about any traffic violation, unauthorised parking, overcharging/refusal/misbehaviour by auto/taxi, faulty traffic signals, or any other issue related to traffic problem, you may send photograph or short video clip with details such as your name, place, date, time etc on mobile number 8750871493 through WhatsApp. We assure you of our prompt action on your complaint and feedback about action taken,” Dr Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner of Police, Traffic said.

Recently, the Delhi Traffic Police had, in its effort to curb parking mafia in the national capital, asked people to come forward and complain about illegal parking in the city through their Facebook page and traffic helpline numbers 1095.

Delhiites were also asked to lodge such complaints at Delhi Police's anti-corruption WhatsApp helpline number 9910641064 where they can send audio and video clips as well.
