New Delhi: A chilly and misty morning gave
way to a warmer and sunny climate as mercury climbed above
normal level as the day progressed on Thursday.
The mercury plunged to 6.4 degree Celsius, down by 1.3
deg C from yesterday's 7.7 deg C during the morning hours but
as the day progressed it touched 24.5 deg C, two notches above
normal. The minimum was two degree below normal.
According to statistics provided by the Weather office,
the average minimum temperature in Delhi for the month of
December is 8.2 deg C and the maximum is 23 deg C.
The weatherman has predicted shallow fog or mist tomorrow
morning and mainly clear sky later in the day. The temperature
is expected to oscillate between 7.0 deg C and 23 deg C
tomorrow.
Delhi recorded the lowest-ever minimum temperature for
this month on December 26, 1945 when it was 1.1 deg C, while
the highest maximum was 29.3 degree C recorded on December 3,
1987.
