Delhiites get respite from biting cold

New Delhi: A relatively warmer morning greeted Delhiites on Wednesday with the minimum temperature rising by over two degrees to settle at 6.7 degree Celsius.

Today's low was two degrees below normal for this time of the season and 2.3 degrees more than yesterday's minimum of 4.4 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded at 21.6 degree Celsius.

The weatherman said there will be a cover of shallow fog in the morning tomorrow and the minimum and maximum may be between 7 degrees and 23 degrees, respectively.

December saw the minimum temperature coming down to 2.9 degrees Celsius on Christmas morning, the lowest of the season so far.

The record lowest minimum for the month was on January 16, 1935, when the mercury touched minus 0.6 degrees Celsius while the highest maximum was 32.5 degrees on January 28, 2004.
