early morning showers, Delhiites on Tuesday sweated as humidity
rose to unbearable levels.

Humidity rose to a high of 94 percent during the day
in the city where the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.5
degree Celsius, up from yesterday`s 34 degrees.

The minimum humidity was recorded at 67 percent.
The city received 2.6 mm of rains for a period of 24
hours till 8:30 am but after that there was no rain till 5:30
pm.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 27.8 degree
Celsius against yesterday`s 26.4 degrees.

The overnight rains affected the flow of traffic in
several areas including Okhla, ITO, Janakpuri, Laxmi Nagar and
RK Puram. Water-logging was reported from several parts of
the city.

The Weatherman has predicted a generally cloudy sky
with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers tomorrow with
mercury oscillating between 28 and 34 degree Celsius.

The wait for seasonal rains in Delhi ended on Saturday
with the South-West Monsoon touching the capital three days
ahead of its normal onset.

Last year, the monsoon had a late arrival in the
capital. The seasonal rains started only on July five last
year after a delay of a week.
