New Delhi: A day after Delhi's Trilokpuri area witnessed a skirmish over parking issue, the area remained tense on Sunday and police personnel were deployed to keep things under control.

According to the police, the clash had broken out among residents of block 26 and 27 of Trilokpuri -- which is divided into 36 blocks. However, adequate police presence ensured the skirmish did not get out of hand.

"It was a skirmish and we controlled it within 11 minutes. The deployment of police force is still there considering the precautionary measures," Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Beniwal told IANS.

Police said that youths from the two blocks had a heated argument over parking issue and then assaulted each other. "There was a verbal duel between two groups of boys which led to stone-pelting. The situation was brought under control after prompt action by the police."

Police said other residents of the locality also joined in as some people started hurling stones. But some residents alerted the police control room.

Saturday's incident occurred around six months after communal violence took place in the area where over 70 people -- 56 policemen and 14 residents -- suffered injuries in rioting and at least 50 people were arrested.
