New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday accused Delhi Chief
Minister Sheila Dikshit of trying to evade investigation by
central agencies by stating that only 25 as against "initially
mentioned 77" projects were directly linked to the CWG event.
Dikshit had yesterday said out of the total projects
implemented by her government in the run up to the Games, only
25 projects were directly linked to the event while 50 others
were only city improvement projects.

"Before the Games, the Government had distributed a
booklet claiming that it has completed 77 Games related
projects. Now she is saying that only 25 projects were related
to the event. It is purely to escape investigation and an
effort to cover up corruption," Delhi BJP chief Vijendra Gupta
said.

Replying to a question in the Assembly, Dikshit had said
the government had spent Rs 2,587 crore on CWG-related
projects and identified 50 other projects unrelated to the
event on which it incurred an expenditure of Rs 9,879 crore.
Alleging bungling by Delhi Government in CWG spendings,
Gupta said the party will carry out a protest march tomorrow
from Lal Qila to Delhi Legislative Assembly, demanding
resignation of Dikshit to ensure free and fair probe.

Gupta also accused Dikshit of "misappropriating thousands
of crores in the name of Commonwealth Games and misled the
Assembly."
