New Delhi: Delhi Metro lacks proper crowd management system in a few of its stations and no equipment was available with it for debri removal during a mock drill exercise conducted in 11 stations last week, the Army has concluded in its report.

The mock drill was conducted on Saturday last by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority to check the preparedness of various agencies in the event of a disaster.
In its audit report, the Army said there was no proper crowd management system in a few of the stations.

"The Army observed that there was no equipment available with DMRC for purposes of debris removal. No guidance from DMRC had been issued to the ESFs, and in some stations there were common entry and exit gates," a release from DDMA said.
It also said there were no ramps installed in some stations for evacuating the differently abled people.

"There was lack of coordination with the hospitals and the first aid kits contained improper and inadequate medicines. CISF need hand-held radio sets," the Army said.
With regard to the Health Department, it said the department responded late and their chain of evacuation was not clear.

About traffic police, the Army said there was no crowd control on roads by traffic police and no separate lanes were earmarked for disaster management purpose.
