New Delhi: Doctors at one of Delhi’s leading government-run hospitals, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, have gone on strike after a patient and one of his relative physically assaulted one of the doctors.

The strike by around 250 doctors has crippled services at the hospital, which is frequented by the poor.

The incident took place last night after which emergency services were immediately suspended.

Doctors are demanding improved security at the hospital before they decide to call off the strike.
