New Delhi: A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus driver was found dead in mysterious circumstances inside the city's largest bus depot Saturday morning, police said.

Ashok Kumar Sharma, 35, resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, was found apparently unconscious around 6 a.m. inside the Millennium Bus Depot, spread across 50 acres on the fragile Yamuna river bed, in Sunlight Colony area of Delhi.

He was taken to Safdarjung hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police said that Sharma had received a head injury which led to his death and denied that he was electrocuted after coming into contact with an open wire lying in a pit filled with rain water inside the depot, noting other people would also be affected if there was any open wire.

They said Sharma might have slipped or got a fit before falling on the ground, leading to the head injury which caused his death.
