Editors Guild condemn attack on TV channel

New Delhi: The Editors Guild on Friday condemned
the attack on a TV news channel here by suspected Sangh
Parivar activists for airing visuals of a sting operation on
an alleged plot to assassinate Vice President Hamid Ansari.

In a release, it said such fascist methods to try and
silence the media will only backfire.

"All organisations which believe in freedom of media must
protest against such intimidating and uncivilised behaviour.

It is particularly deplorable that there has been an attempt
in some quarters to condone such hooliganism," the guild said.
