Ex-official moves HC for bringing RAW in RTI ambit
A former woman RAW official has moved the Delhi High Court for bringing the external intelligence agency RAW under transparency law.
New Delhi: A former woman RAW official, who
had hit the headlines in August 2008 by attempting suicide
before the PMO, has moved the Delhi High Court for bringing
the external intelligence agency RAW under transparency law.
In a petition to the high court, ex-RAW official Nisha
Priya Bhatia sought the court directions to bring Research and
Analysis Wing (RAW) under the Right to Information Act at
least as far as alleged instances of corruption and human
rights violation by the organisation is concerned.
Bhatia also sought a direction from a bench of Chief
Justice A K Sikri and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw to RAW to
provide her information on instances of corruption and human
rights violations by her former colleagues in the
