hassles near Pragati Maidan as a large turnout of people are
expected for the Auto Expo every day for the next one week.
Delhi Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory as it
expects traffic congestion on Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Ring
Road, Sher Shah Road and Purana Qila Road.
While the first two days are for special invitees, the
other days are earmarked for general public.,
Satyendra Garg, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic),
said no vehicle will be allowed to halt or park anywhere on
Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg.
"There will also be no parking by visitors at Sher Shah
and Purana Qila Road. Improperly parked vehicles will be towed
away with fines. U-turn on Mathura Road will be prohibited.
Right turn from Mathura Road to Purana Qila road and Bhagwan
Das Road will not be allowed," he said.
He also urged people to use Metro to visit Auto Expo.
Those using DTC buses for travelling from Delhi or NCR can
alight at designated bus routes on Mathura Road and Bhairon
"Those who want to use their own vehicles for reaching
Pragati Maidan must avail park-and-ride facility specially
provided for this purpose at three locations at Sunehri Pullah
near Dayal Singh College on Lodhi Road, Kushak Nala Barapullah
and Ashpond behind Rajghat," he said.
