New Delhi: A fight over bursting crackers during a wedding claimed two lives in central Delhi -- a youth was stabbed to death while a middle-aged man died due to heart attack while taking the former to hospital.

The incident took place in Kamla Market area last night, a senior police official said today. The deceased have been identified as Altamus (23) and Syed Abdul who is in his
early fifities.

Altamus (23) had gone to a marriage function in the neighbourhood where he entered into a scuffle with one Salman over bursting of crackers during the ceremony, the official
said.

"Salman objected to Altamus bursting crackers and this led to an argument between them. It later turned ugly and both got violent. Salman allegedly took out a knife and stabbed Altamus," the official said.
Soon after the incident, he said, Salman fled from the scene while locals including Abdul took Altamus to a nearby hospital for treatment.

"On way, Abdul suffered a heart attack and died on way to hospital. He might have been under shock after seeing the stabbing and the blood oozing out of Altamus` body," the official said.
A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab Salman who is absconding.
