Fire in East Delhi, one firefighter feared killed

A firefighter was feared killed and three others injured in East Delhi while trying to douse fire in a tyre godown triggered by an explosion early Wednesday morning.

The incident took place in Vishwas Nagar at around 1.00
am. The fire brigade received the call at around 1.10 am.

A senior fire official said a firefighter was feared
killed and three others injured while trying to douse fire in
the building.

The fire broke out after an explosion in the basement
of the building which is used as a godown of tyres. The other
floors of the building are used for residential purposes.

"An explosion took place in the basement which
resulted in the roof collapse," the official said.
