Four AAP workers arrested for pasting posters

Four Aam Aadmi Party workers were arrested for putting up posters on public property in Malviya Nagar of south Delhi.

New Delhi: Four Aam Aadmi Party workers were arrested for putting up posters on public property in Malviya Nagar of south Delhi.

Police said the arrested were identified as Rajesh, Gulshan, Deepak and Rajinder, all aged between 20 and 30 years.

However, they were later granted bail as the offence was bailable.

Police said that they were arrested when they were pasting their party posters on public property in Malviya Nagar area around 1 AM last night.

"We arrested AAP`s members last night under various sections of Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007. However, they were granted bail this afternoon as the offence was bailable," said a senior police officer.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party has decided to hold a rally at the Jantar Mantar on August 3 to put pressure on the ruling BJP and call for fresh elections.

"We will also be holding a rally on August 3 at Jantar Mantar and demand for fresh election in the National Capital," AAP`s Delhi party unit secretary Dilip Pandey.
