New Delhi: Four persons were apprehended here for allegedly killing a jeweller during a robbery attempt with police on Friday claiming that they have solved around 90 cases of murder, loot and snatching with their arrest.

The arrested have been identified as Narender Kumar (27), Vijay (27), Sandeep (26) and Rajesh Gautam (26). They were arrested from Adarsh Nagar yesterday on a tip-off. Two country-made pistols and two motorcycles, including a stolen one, were recovered from them, police said. Vijay has allegedly committed about 80-90 snatchings in North-West Delhi, North Delhi and trans-Yamuna areas? He further revealed that he is absconding in more than 15 cases of snatching being tried in different courts of Delhi,
according to police.
The gang was allegedly involved in the murder of a jeweller in Mukherjee Nagar on September five. They had robbed him of Rs 15-20 lakh, a senior police official said. The 65-year-old jeweller and his son were returning to their house in Mukherjee Nagar in their scooter when they were signalled to stop by six men on two motorcycles near Tagore Park on the pretext of asking some address.
The moment they stopped, the official said, the robbers took out firearms and knives and asked them to hand over whatever they were carrying. The jeweller was shot dead when
he resisted.
