Raising questions about the safety of women in the national capital, four teenage girls have gone missing from east Delhi.
New Delhi: Raising questions about the safety of women in the national capital, four teenage girls have gone missing from east Delhi.
Class eight students of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya located in Pocket 4 of Mayur Vihar Phase-I, the girls are missing since Thursday evening. As per reports, they had appeared for their annual school examination yesterday
They were last seen at the Nilgiri Restaurant, located near their school, before they went missing.
On the complaint filed by their parents, the Delhi Police first registered a missing complaint but has reportedly, changed it to a case of abduction.
Multiple investigating teams have been set up by the police to crack the case.
Importantly, their parents have denied having enmity with anybody.
Delhi has lately acquired the notorious distinction of being a city unsafe for women. As per government data, 1179 girls had gone missing last year, and in the first 12 days of 2011, 65 girls went missing.
