Four sharpshooters of a Delhi-based gang were arrested after a shootout in Haryana`s Rohtak, police said Saturday. A policeman was wounded.

New Delhi: Four sharpshooters of a Delhi-based gang were arrested after a shootout in Haryana`s Rohtak, police said Saturday. A policeman was wounded.

Police said Jagdeep, 30, Sandeep, 21, Anil Kumar, 24 and Raj Kamal, 26, were arrested near Maharishi Dayanad University in Rohtak where they had gone to kill a man over an old rivalry.

"Three sophisticated .32 bore pistols with 18 live cartridges and a .315 bore countrymade pistol with two live cartridges were recovered from them," said Ravindra Yadav, additional commissioner of police.

The quartet were members of Delhi extortionist Manoj Morkheri`s gang, who was arrested in March and is lodged in Tihar Jail.

"Head Constable Sandeep of Haryana Police was wounded in the gun battle. His condition is stable," Yadav added.
