New Delhi: In the wake of allegations levelled by some bidders that tender process followed by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was arbitrary, the government has formed a committee to examine the process.

"The government has received some representations from the bidders alleging that the tender process followed by DMRC was arbitrary, non transparent and unfair," minister of state in the Urban Development ministry Deepa Dasmunshi told Lok Sabha in a written reply to a query.

"The government has constituted an independent committee on April 30, 2013 to examine if a fair, equitable and transparent tender process was followed by DMRC, as per prescribed guidelines," she said, adding that the committee has been asked to submit its report in one month.

In response to another question, Dasmunshi said DMRC had taken up only two metro projects - one at Jaipur and another at Kochi - for implementation on deposit term basis.

She said this was not affecting the work on the metro network in Delhi.
