New Delhi: Wasim Akram Malik, an accused in the Delhi High Court blast case, on Monday sought permission from a local court to visit Bangladesh, where he was studying unani medicine before his arrest by NIA, to fill a examination form.

Sources privy to the in-camera proceeding said Malik told district judge HS Sharma he has to appear in an examination in Bangladesh for which he need to fill up the form.

The designated NIA judge asked Malik to fill up the form from Tihar jail with the help of his relatives, sources said.

Malik and another suspected terrorist Amir Abbas Dev were produced before the judge on expiry of their judicial custody which was extended till December 19 after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said its probe is still going on.

Malik is an alleged 'key link' in the conspiracy behind the blast outside gate number 5 of the high court on September 7 that left 15 dead and over 70 injured.

The court had earlier dismissed NIA's plea for his polygraph test after he had expressed his "unwillingness" to undergo the test.

Polygraph test is conducted to know the psychological reaction of a person to the questions asked by an expert and according to a Supreme Court ruling, a person cannot be compelled to undergo such tests which also include brain mapping and narco analysis.
