Heavy rains lash capital

The national capital received rains this evening leading to waterlogging and affecting the travel plans of people going to temples on the occasion of Janmashtami.

travel plans of people going to temples on the occasion of
Janmashtami.

The rains started around 4 pm and the rain guages
measured one mm of showers till 5:30 pm, the MeT office said.
The showers led to waterlogging in areas like Kashmere
Gate and Punjabi Bagh.

Vehicular movement across the city was affected due to
the rains. The most affected were people who headed towards
temples on the occasion of Janmashtami.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.4 degrees
Celsius while the minimum was at 26.5 degrees, the MeT office
said.

The humidity swung between 74 and 92 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted one or two spells of rains
or thunder showers for tomorrow with the temperature
oscillating between 26 and 34 degree Celsius.
