New Delhi: The Delhi government will set up heritage clubs in schools so that children could be educated on the importance and preservation of the numerous monuments in the capital, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said on Saturday.
"We will soon set up heritage clubs in schools so that children could be educated on the importance of conservation and preservation of monuments," Dikshit said at a programme organised by the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation.
Each and every monument in the capital has a distinct culture and lifestyle of that particular era, and learning about it will be a good learning experience for the children, Dikshit said.

She added that school-based heritage clubs will also popularise traditional activities like kite-flying.

"Delhi government will soon organise a kite festival," she added.
