New Delhi: A man was arrested in the national
capital allegedly with over 4 kg of high-quality heroin
worth around Rs 8 crore, police said on Thursday.
Sanjeev Kumar, 23, a resident of Amritsar, was
apprehended from near Akshardham temple yesterday on a
tip-off, a senior police official said.
"He worked at Amritsar airport as a ground staff and
after some time left the job and joined drug trafficking to
earn easy money," the official claimed.
He allegedly procured heroin from his associates in
neighbouring countries through different sources.
"After receiving the consignment, supplies the same to
his other contacts or agents in Delhi and NCR. Efforts are on
to identify his other associates," the official said.
