Hot morning in Delhi, mercury to soar further

 Delhiites woke up to an exceptionally hot morning today with the minimum temperature settling at 26 degrees Celsius, eight notches above normal.

New Delhi: Delhiites woke up to an exceptionally hot morning today with the minimum temperature settling at 26 degrees Celsius, eight notches above normal.

"The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 AM was 26 degrees Celsius and the humidity in air was 74 per cent," a MeT official said.

The weatherman has predicted that the mercury might touch 40 degrees Celsius during the day.

"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 40 and 27 degrees Celsius," the official added.
