Humid day ahead, showers likely in Delhi

New Delhi: The week began on a hot and humid note for Delhiites Monday but the weather office forecast light showers and thunderstorms in parts of the city later in the day.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light showers and thunderstorm may occur in some parts of the city," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature recorded in the morning was two notches above normal at 28.4 degrees Celsius. The maximum was expected to hover around 36 degrees, the official said.

The maximum humidity was recorded at a high of 76 percent and the minimum was 59 percent.

The total recorded rain for this season till Monday morning was 320 mm.
