New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today bid
farewell to two of its judges who have been transferred by the
Chief Justice of India H S Kapadia on public interest.

Justice Aruna Suresh and Justice S N Aggarwal have been
transferred to Orissa High Court and Madhya Pradesh High Court
respectively.

In the farewell meeting Justice Aggarwal, who has
reportedly written letter to CJI to reconsider his transfer on
personal ground, got emotional saying that he is going to a
new place despite the fact that his wife is bed-ridden and has
some other family problems.

"I have tried to give my best to the system
notwithstanding serious medical problems of my wife, (who is
undergoing multiple treatment for cardio, psychiatric and
kidney-related problems) and other home problems," Justice
Aggarwal said.

"I have seen my younger daughter, a magistrate in a city
court, becoming a widow just at the age of 27 year and my
younger brother passing away within the a year of my elevation
to the Bench," he said.

Justice Aruna Suresh, however, preferred not to speak on
her transfer to another high court.

A S Chandhoke, the President of the Delhi High Court
Bar Asociation, said "although transfer is a part of the
constitutional system, the CJI should reconsider Justice
Aggarwal`s transfer on compassionate ground.
