New Delhi: The Indian Army helicopter which
had accidentally strayed across the Line of Control (LoC) in
October was possibly checked by Pakistani authorities while it
was in their custody, Defence Minister AK Antony told the Lok
Sabha on Monday.

"It is possible that the Pakistani authorities may have
examined the helicopter," he said in a written reply to a
question in the House, adding an inquiry has been instituted
to probe the incident.

Antony was asked whether the sensitive data stored in
various instruments in the helicopter could have been seized
by the Pakistani authorities.

An Indian Army`s Cheetah helicopter carrying four of its
personnel was forced to land in Pakistani territory after it
strayed into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on October 23.

The chopper was on its way to Bhimbhat from Leh.

The chopper was allowed to fly back to its base in Kargil
less than five hours after the incident.
