New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on Friday granted bail by a local court here in a defamation case filed by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri.

Metropolitan Magistrate Harvinder Singh was granted bail to Kejriwal on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 10,000 after he appeared before the court.

The court has now fixed the matter for further hearing on August 6, the outlook.com reported.

The BJP parliamentarian had alleged that Kejriwal had defamed him during an interview to a news channel.

Bidhuri had claimed that during the interview, Kejriwal had falsely said that criminal cases were pending against him but the police not taking action.
