New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi on Sunday said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should have been clear and honest about his objectives when taking charge of office that he will be the chief minister, but a helpless one.
She was commenting on the abysmal law and order situation in the national capital, a day after the murder of a 19-year-old girl in the city`s Anand Parbat area.
She insisted that the Delhi Police should have acted with greater alacrity and paid heed to the warnings issued to them about harassment and criminal acitivity in the Anand Parbat area.
"Delhi Police should have acted with more alacrity and speed and paid heed to warnings that were issued earlier. He (Kejriwal) should have said, "I will be able to do things only when Delhi becomes a State, conditions apply to all promises," Shazia told ANI.
"Arvind Kejriwal, when he was promising the sun and moon to the people of Delhi before the polls, should have made it clear that "I`ll be helpless, though I`ll be CM," she added.
"It is a bit strange that when you are not the chief minister, you blame the CM, but, when you are the CM, and something terrible happens, you blame the PM," she satted further.
"Arvind Kejriwal blamed Sheila Dikshit when the Nirbhaya rape case happened in December 2012, Sheila ji was the chief minister, not the Prime Minister back then. Now, when he is the chief minister, he is blaming the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi)," Shazia told ANI.
"It is very sad for any party, be it the AAP, or any other, to use this (Anand Parbat murder) as a political scoring point," she added.
There have been complaints lodged against these stalkers before, she said, and therefore, why was no action taken.
