Kidnappers claim to kill abducted in Noida

Three persons, who were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a class XI student, claimed that they have killed the boy.

Noida: Three persons, who were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a class XI student here, claimed that they have killed the boy even as police said the boy cannot be declared dead until his body is recovered.

During interrogation, the three alleged kidnappers claimed that they killed 16-year-old Jitender Yadav on the next day of kidnapping and had thrown the body in a canal in Bulandshahar, DSP Vishwajit Srivastava said.

The DSP, however, said the boy cannot be declared dead until his body was recovered. He said a search is on at the canal but so far no body was recovered at the site.

"The suspected kidnappers told us that they had killed the boy and dumped the body in the Bulandshahar canal. We have deployed divers to search the body in the canal. We can not declare the boy dead unless his body is found," the DSP said.

Meanwhile, the boy`s parents held protest at police station.

On March 13, class XI student Jitender went missing from near his residence in Sector 70. The next day, an unknown person received a call on Jitender`s mobile phone and demanded Rs one crore ransom for his release.

After some negotiations with the family, the ransom amount was later reduced to Rs 50 lakh.

Police had arrested three suspected kidnappers -- Gautam, Golu and Monu on March 21.
