Lawyer dies inside courtroom in district court

New Delhi: A lawyer, who came to appear
in a case before a Sessions Judge here, allegedly suffered a
massive heart attack inside the courtroom and was later
declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.

Minutes before his case was about to be called for
hearing, Ram Lakhan Tripathi, 50, suffered a heart attack
inside the courtroom of Additional Sessions Judge Pinki at
Patiala House District courts here, police sources said.

The lawyer, who was rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia
hospital by his colleagues at around 11:45 am, was declared
brought dead, they said.

"The district courts complexes lack basic medical
facilities and the lawyer died as he could not be provided
with primary medical aid," a colleague said.
