New Delhi: Light showers were experienced in some parts of the national capital early on Saturday morning but the minimum temperature settled at 30 degrees Celsius, two degrees above the average for the season, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
"The skies would remain partly cloudy. Showers might bring down the maximum temperature by a notch or two," an IMD official said.
The capital received 0.4 mm rainfall on Saturday morning and the Met office forecast more rains later in the day.
"Light thundershowers are expected in some parts of the city towards the evening," the official added.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to stay around 35 and 28 degrees Celsius," said the weatherman.
Humidity stood at 79 percent, he said.
The maximum temperature recorded Friday was 38.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average for the season.
