LS adjourns briefly as member takes ill

A Lok Sabha member took ill moments after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh concluded his reply to a debate on the President`s address prompting Speaker Meira Kumar to adjourn the proceedings briefly.

New Delhi: A Lok Sabha member took ill
moments after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh concluded his
reply to a debate on the President`s address prompting Speaker
Meira Kumar to adjourn the proceedings briefly.

Prasanta Kumar Majumdar, a member of the Revolutionary
Socialist Party (RSP), took ill and was rushed out of the
House where doctors attended to him.

A Lok Sabha member said that Majumdar felt dizzy and
complained of uneasiness.

The RSP member was administered first aid and taken to
RML Hospital nearby.

The proceedings of the Lok Sabha resumed after 15 minutes.
