New Delhi: Alka Lamba, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Chandni Chowk, on Thursday decided to take matters in her own hands when she was pestered and eve-teased by a youth in her constituency.

Lamba, who also happens to be the Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, was surveying the haveli of Mirza Ghalib in Chandni Chowk's Ballimaran area today when she came face-to-face with an eve-teaser.

The MLA narrated on Twitter that the perpetrator first smiled at her, then winked and tried to get too close for comfort when she slapped him.

"He claimed he was mentally unstable but even by evening his family could not produce any satisfactory evidence that he was undergoing medical treatment," Lamba said.

Meanwhile, police said the accused was identified as Rajesh, a resident of Baljeet Nagar area.

"A written complaint has been made to us in this regard and we are looking into the matter," a police officer said.
