MCD demolishes unauthorised portions of 10 properties

Intensifying its drive against unauthorised constructions, MCD on Tuesday demolished illegally built portions in 10 properties in the city.

New Delhi: Intensifying its drive against
unauthorised constructions, MCD on Tuesday demolished illegally
built portions in 10 properties in the city.

The action was taken against four properties in Central
Zone and six properties in Civil Lines Zone, officials said.

The drive was undertaken in areas like Tughlakabad
Extension, Harit Vihar, Adarsh Nagar, Subzi Mandi and
Mukherjee Nagar.

A Central Zone Building Department official said it has
taken demolition action in more than 100 unauthorised
constructions in the last one month.

"We have already uploaded the details of illegally
constructed properties in different areas of Central Zone of
MCD on its website, www.mcdonliine.gov.in. Public is also
advised to get the building plans sanctioned from the
competent authority before undertaking construction," he said.

The pace of demolition action will be further accelerated,
the official said.
