New Delhi: A floor of the house of a Congress MLA was among nine properties targeted as part of a drive against alleged unauthorised constructions by the MCD in central and south Delhi on Wednesday.

The civic body said intensifying action against unauthorised constructions, it has demolished portions of nine properties in Pulpeladpur, Sangam Vihar, Hari Nagar Ashram and Govindpuri areas.

Among the properties against which action was taken by MCD Central Zone was the third floor of the house of Jangpura MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah in Hari Nagar Ashram, MCD sources said. However, when contacted, Marwah denied that the house belonged to him. "Let the MCD show documents to prove that it is mine," the MLA said.

During the drive, illegal floors of houses and basements were demolished, the MCD said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the MCD Shahdara North Zone officials took demolition action against three properties in Ram Nagar, Ashok Nagar and Mohanpuri in compliance with a court order.

The MCD said the Building Department of Central Zone recently launched massive demolition drive against unauthorised constructions. It has targeted 230 properties since January and in the month of April itself, it has undertaken 60 demolition actions.

Cautioning the people against "unscrupulous builders indulging in unauthorised construction", it said they are "luring the innocent public under the garb of giving them extra coverage or FAR, but once the final deal is struck, they immediately disappear from the scene."

"It is the unsuspecting buyer who becomes the sufferer... with a view to put breaks on the menace as well as safeguard the interest of common denizens" the pace of demolition actions has been accelerated, the statement said.

In the coming days, the demolition drive will be further speeded up, the MCD said and asked the people to verify the facts from the concerned zone or from the website of MCD with regard to status of construction in the property they intend to buy.

Sir, I have buy this property in the month of June, 2011. Now I want to make a paper in my name. But the registrar office said that the Registry of this property not be possible unless you can not submit a NOC from MCD. I have go through the MCD side and found that the MCD had kept this property on demolition head by saying that ``Demolished parapet walls and lintel of the slab at TF``. Now, what is the procedure for making the paper or registery of this property.
