MCD extends winter holidays in its schools due to cold wave

Keeping in view the cold wave in the national capital, the MCD Thursday decided to extend the winter holidays in its primary schools till January 13.

New Delhi: Keeping in view the cold wave in the national capital, the MCD Thursday decided to extend the winter holidays in its primary schools till January 13.

Mayor of Delhi Prithvi Raj Sawhney and Chairman of Education Committee Mahinder Nagpal reviewed the prevailing cold condition in the city and announced that holidays in all MCD and aided schools will be extended.

The schools were closed for winter vacation from December 25 to January 9. The cold wave situation will be re-assessed on the eve of the opening date, officials said.
