New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday accepted what looked like an imminent defeat in the recently concluded elections for the three civic bodies as the early trends suggested a complete rout of the party after the first few hours of counting of votes.

In his first reaction to the emerging trends, Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said, “We accept people’s verdict. We will certainly try to ascertain the causes of our poor showing in the days to come.”

However, the Congress leader was quick to downplay main opposition BJP’s comfortable lead in the civic body polls in Delhi by saying, “The MCD polls results should be seen in that context only. It will not have a bearing on Congress’ prospects in the coming elections,” adding, “Congress has been winning the Assembly elections for the past 15 years and our candidates have won all seven Parliamentary seats from Delhi. This itself shows our strength.”

He, however, admitted that there were local issues which led to party’s poor performance in the civic body elections.

It is very easy to find the root cause of defeat of congress, which is total corruption, killing and suppressing the rights of common men, inflation etc etc. They are so insane that they don`t even want to realize that it is the only common men who can put them on top or bottom. But congress is looking forward to the benefit of rich society and not to the benefit poor or common. They must accept that most of the citizen of India are still below poverty line and they are the common men and by suppressing and killing their right and livelihood they can’t win again and again. The result is here now.

First a BIG defeat in UP & now a MEGA defeat in Delhi, What more the Congress wants to know ? OPEN UR eyes Rahul Gandhi the BJP is defeated in ur own home town - Delhi. Now on whom & how are you going to take action on this defeat? HA HA HA now no answer from all the Gandhi family & the very high headed Congress. Pl. mend ur ways or prepare for a land slide defeat in the 2014 Elections.

BJP needs to project now Suhma Swaraj or Arun Jaitley/ Vijay Goel as the next CM of Delhi now than I am sure they will win assembly elections also hands down. They should stop projecting themselves as headless organisation. In fact leaders for each state and Center should be finalised and projected if they really want to win in all states & center.
