New Delhi: The MCD on Tuesday asked its
engineering department to ensure quick repair of roads which
had been dug up by various agencies for laying public utility
lines or other works.
Chairman of MCD Works Committee Jagdish Mamgain ordered
immediate restoration of such roads. He said that the charges
for repair has already been submitted to the MCD and the
payment will be released on priority.
"The executive engineers should immediately publish the
tender and get the work done," he said.
The MCD had repeatedly said that arbitrary road digging
by various authorities were hampering its work and warned of
criminal proceedings against such agencies.
"We will file criminal case against agencies which are
digging roads illegally, without permission and without
submitting the required revenue money to us," Mamgain had said
earlier last year.
