Mercury dips as rain lashes Delhi, IMD predicts more rainfall

New Delhi; Rain brought down the mercury, making for a cool Monday morning here with the minimum temperature settling two notches below the season's average at 25.8 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has forecast more rain during the day.

"The sky would be generally cloudy and rain accompanied with thunderstorms could occur in some areas," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 35 degrees Celsius.

The city received 6 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m., while the humidity was 92 percent.

Sunday's maximum temperature settled two notches above the season's average at 38.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature recorded was four notches above the season's average at 31.2 degrees Celsius.
