Mercury up in Delhi

New Delhi: With the summer approaching, mercury remained above normal in the national capital this morning and the sun came out in all its brightness.

The low was recorded at 15.9 degree Celsius, one degree more than normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours was 33.1 degree Celsius which is four degrees above normal.

The city experienced a sunny morning.

The MeT Department said the mercury is likely to rise in the coming days and for tomorrow, it has predicted a mainly clear sky with temperatures between 16 and 34 degree Celsius.

The mean temperature for the month of March is 15.4 degree C (minimum) and 30 degree C (maximum). In the last 11 years, the minimum had dropped below 10 degree C only in 2001 and 2003.
