New Delhi: A mock drill was conducted at the
Indira Gandhi International airport here today to check the
preparedness of security agencies ahead of Republic Day, the
second such exercise this week.
CISF personnel spotted a vehicle at the premium parking
slot near the international terminal at around 1:30 pm, a
senior official said.
"A vehicle with dummy explosives was spotted at the
parking slot opposite arrival terminal. It was taken to an
isolated place," the official said.
Delhi Police, bomb disposal teams and dog squads were
informed.
On Monday, security agencies carried out a security drill
to thwart an attempt by an explosives laden vehicle to ram
into the domestic terminal of the airport.
