New Delhi: Tearing into Arvind Kejriwal for blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for President Pranab Mukherjee rejecting an amendment passed by Delhi government aimed at retrospectively exempting the appointment of 21 AAP MLAs as parliamentary secretaries, the BJP on Tuesday accused the Delhi Chief Minister of politicising what necessarily is a legal issue.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “We have seen the drama of Aam Aadmi Party unfolding in front of us since yesterday. The decision (rejection of the Office of Profit Amendment Bill) was taken by the office of President of India and we have seen the frustration of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.”
“The office of President and the office of the Election Commission are independent institutes and they are great credibility, for God's sake don't demean the credibility of the President and Election Commission as it demeans the credibility of the constitution of India,” he said.
“Why to politicise an issue which has a legal bearing...when it (the issue) is technical in nature, give a technical answer rather than give a political answer,” Patra said questioning Kejriwal.
“BJP is not afraid of Aam Aadmi Party. His (Kejriwal) morning begins with modi modi modi, his afternoons are Modi, Modi, Modi and evening are Modi, Modi, Modi,” he said, adding that the AAP has turned into “Abusing and Accusing Party.”
Training his guns on Kejriwal's ministers, Patra said, “From morning till evening they are abusing everyone on this earth since they are busy abusing is that they needed 21 parliamentary secretaries?”
