New Delhi: Delhiites will have to wait for some more time for the rainy season with the weatherman on Monday saying that the monsoon will miss its June 29 date, the normal onset day.
MeT Safdurjung Director BP Yadav said monsoon is not hitting the capital tomorrow, which is the normal date for the onset of the monsoon and is expected to hit the city in the first week of July.
"There could be variation of three-four days. We expect the monsoon to hit the city in the first week of July," he told a news agency.
Last year, the monsoon had touched the city on June 30.
The city has been receiving pre-monsoon showers in the past few days.
Light showers were reported from some parts of the capital this morning. Last night, the city recorded 2 mm of rains.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.1 degree Celsius.
