New Delhi: Overnight showers followed by a sunny on Wednesday morning ensured a muggy start today for Delhiites but the Met office forecast rains later in the day.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
"Parts of the city will be lashed by thundershowers towards afternoon or evening. The maximum temperature will hover around 33 degrees Celsius," an IMD official said.
The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 92 percent, he added.
The city received 6.9 mm of rainfall from Tuesday 5.30 p.m. to Wednesday 8.30 am.
Delhi has received a total of 477.7 mm of rainfall this monsoon, 17 percent below the average.
Tuesday`s maximum temperature settled at 31.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 24.5 degrees Celsius.
