Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has met the family of the newborn girl, whose body was found dumped inside a bio-waste truck at a hospital.

New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has met the family of the newborn girl, whose body was found dumped inside a bio-waste truck at a hospital here three days ago, and promised action by tomorrow.

Jain had visited the aggrieved family yesterday at their Janakpuri house to offer condolence, and assured the family of action against the guilty within 48 hours.
"I went to meet them to share their grief and pain. Firstly, the death of their daughter was major shock to the family, later the body of their baby was dumped inside a bio-waste truck which further intensified their pain," Jain said.

Meanwhile, the three members of the Committee, formed by Health Department to probe into the matter also visited the family in the afternoon today to get the detailed sequence of events.

The Committee headed by S C L Das, Principal Secretary (Health) is expected to submit its report tonight.

The father of the child, Rajesh Gupta, said that they are not satisfied with the action taken by the hospital authorities.
"They have suspended those people who are changed almost every month and work on contract. Are the senior officials of the hospital management not responsible for the negligence? We are not satisfied with the hospital`s action and demand a thorough enquiry into the matter," Gupta said confirming the Minister visited them and assured action.

A after the incident came to light, the management of Mata Chanan Devi hospital had suspended two staffers -- a security guard and a member of the housekeeping staff-- for negligence and the hospital`s internal committee also gave a copy of the report to the Delhi Government.

A case under Section 297 of IPC has been registered at Janakpuri police station.

The body of the newborn girl was found inside a bio-waste truck at the hospital on January 6 at Mata Chanan Devi hospital.

The parents of the deceased girl have alleged that the lapse had occurred despite hospital authorities having taken money from them to keep the body in the mortuary.

The infant was born on Sunday morning at Khanna Nursing home. Her parents had taken her to Mata Chanan Devi hospital in the evening when her condition deteriorated.

The infant had died of complications on Monday at 2 am.

The body was to be kept at the hospital mortuary but was instead later discovered in the bio-waste truck.
