New Delhi: The National Human Rights
Commission has sought a report from Delhi Police taking
cognizance of a complaint filed against industrialist Anil
Nanda and his associates by his driver few days before he died
of burn injuries in mysterious circumstances here.
Issuing a notice to Delhi police commissioner in this
regard, the Commission has called for a report about the
incident within one week.

"The commission has taken cognizance of case and
issued a notice to Delhi police commissioner, calling for a
report within one week," NHRC`s deputy registrar (law) A K
Parashar told agency.
Janeshwar Sharma, who was said to have been working at
the industrialist`s house for six years, died on Wednesday in
a city hospital battling serious burn injuries for seven days
after he was set on fire at Nanda`s residence late on June 9.

Before he died, Sharma had filed a complaint with NHRC
and sought its intervention in his case alleging that police
lodged a case against unknown persons for setting him on fire
despite the fact that while giving his statement to police, he
had named Anil Nanda and his two other associates for their
involvement in the incident, sources in the commission said.
