A minor girl suffered injuries when an ex-army man opened fire during a marriage ceremony to celebrate the event

New Delhi: A minor girl suffered injuries when an ex-army man opened fire during a marriage ceremony to celebrate the event here, police said on Tuesday.
The incident was reported from Palam last night and the ex-army man Jagbhan was arrested. Nine-year-old Riya sustained a bullet injury in her waist.
The accused is currently employed as a private security officer of a businessman. He had accompanied the businessman, who went for the marriage function at Eros Garden banquet hall in Palam.

Riya, who resides in Vikaspuri, had come to the ceremony with her parents.

Her uncle Anil told police that Riya and her mother were having snacks when the groom`s relatives and Jag Bhan opened celebratory fire in air.

Riya was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors said she is out of danger. Police said Jagbhan was allegedly drunk when he opened fire.
