Observe 'Shahid Diwas' as 'Desh Diwas' to do 'good work' for India: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged the people to observe Shahid Diwas on March 23 as 'Desh Diwas' and do "good work" for the country in the memory of the martyrs who have laid down their lives for it.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged the people to observe Shahid Diwas on March 23 as 'Desh Diwas' and do "good work" for the country in the memory of the martyrs who have laid down their lives for it.

"I wish to appeal to all to observe Shahid Diwas as 'Desh Diwas' and do good work according to one's wish for the country. We all should together to do some good work for the country so that the martyrs rest in peace," Kejriwal said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi will also observe Shahid Diwas in the Delhi Legislative Assembly to mark the occasion.

Also, the party will launch its agitation against the Land Acquisition Bill and the dues of sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow with party leader Sanjay Singh already in the state to lead the agitation.

Shahid Diwas is celebrated in memory of revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, who were hanged by India's British rulers on March 23, 1931.
