New Delhi: Congress General Secretary
Digvijay Singh on Thursday dismissed as "media creation" the latest
controversy over his reported reference of al-Qaeda chief
Osama bin Laden as "Osamaji."

"Absolutely yes, thanks to media. What I can do when
the media did not understand my sarcasm regarding Osama found
near the Pakistan military academy?" Singh told reporters
seeking to put the record straight on his remarks at a public
meeting at Varanasi.

Singh was seen a bit irritated when he was asked
questions by reporters at the AICC headquarters on several
issues, including whether the fresh controversy involving him
was a media creation.

Singh`s comments on the burial of the al Qaeda leader in
a sea was disapproved by the Congress high command only two
days back with a senior party leader frowning upon his
constant comments which are not in line with the policy of the
party.

The Congress leader was evasive when asked whether party
chief Sonia Gandhi had set up a super group of AICC to advise
the government on policy issues.

"I cannot say anything if there is no announcement from
the Congress party officially," he said when told that the
group reportedly has him as a member along with senior leaders
Ahmed Patel, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Janardan Dwivedi and Suresh
Pachauri and it had its first meeting a couple of days back.

Highly placed party sources, however, dubbed as
"baseless" reports of formation of such a super group.
